HOLLAND COLLEGE ANNOUNCES STAFFING CHANGES

Holland College announced two senior management staffing changes recently. Natalie Mitton has been moved from the position of Director of Programs to Vice President, Academic and Applied Research. Tim McRoberts, who was the program manager for Business programs at the college, is now Director of Canada’s Smartest Kitchen, the research arm of The Culinary Institute of Canada.

Ms. Mitton holds a Bachelor of Arts, with a major in French; a Bachelor of Education with a specialization in French; and a Masters of Education and Leadership. She has worked in a number of capacities within the college during the past several years. Most recently she was the Director of Programs, Curriculum and Instructional Development; providing leadership and support to program managers, faculty, curriculum consultants, and administrative staff across the college. She has also served as the Director of Adult and Community Education, and Program Manager of Applied Sciences, Engineering Technology, Computer Studies and the School of Visual Arts and Journalism. Prior to her employment with Holland College, Natalie was employed with the Public Schools Branch as a Vice Principal and a French Immersion teacher. She also has experience as a business co-owner of the Summit Centre Maxillofacial Surgery.

Mr. McRoberts has served as the Program Manager for the Business, Tourism and Sport & Leisure Department for Holland College since 2008. Prior to that, he was a curriculum consultant for three years, after teaching as a Chef Instructor at The Culinary Institute of Canada for over 10 years. Tim is a Red Seal Chef, and holds a Culinary Management diploma, a post-degree diploma in Adult Education, a Master’s degree, and is scheduled to defend his doctoral thesis later this month.  Before joining the College, Tim worked as a professional chef, holding various executive-level positions in the foodservice industry. In addition to leading large scale, fine dining, and catering divisions, Tim has worked in areas such as culinary brand ambassadorship, product development, television, consultancy, and strategic business development.

“We look forward to working with Natalie and Tim in their new roles”, said Dr. Sandy MacDonald, the college’s new president.  “Natalie’s vast experiences will serve her well in this role; she is very excited to accept this opportunity and will continue to work diligently towards the success of the college, it’s students, staff and faculty.  Tim’s industry and post-secondary experiences, blended with his formal education, are sure to complement the strengths of the team and history of success in Canada’s Smartest Kitchen”, he said.

These senior management appointments became effective on Monday, January 7, 2019.
